Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actor and TV host. She is best known for her role as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her career in showbiz at a young age. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable projects both at home and abroad over the years. They include the British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical miniseries Napoleon among others. The actress also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
